In-State Rivals: Ole Miss vs. Miss. State Baseball Series

OXFORD, Miss.–Rivals in the Magnolia State will take to the baseball diamond this weekend for a three game SEC series.

This weekend #20 Ole Miss comes in with a (33-16, 12-12) record and #13 MSU has a (36-13, 13-13) record on the line.

In the SEC this year it’s Vanderbilt (42-6, 21-2) and LSU (43-7, 19-6) on top of their respective divisions and then everyone else, but with six games left on the in-conference slate both teams have a lot to play for to end the season.

Friday night Ole Miss will send out ace Bobby Wahl (9-0) and MSU will send out ace Luis Pollerana (6-2) and first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.

The Rebels are coming off a mid-week win against a good Saint Louis team, but dropped a road series to a struggling Auburn team last weekend.

Mississippi State on the other hand comes in to the weekend after a sweep of Alabama last weekend.

The matchup on Saturday starts at 4 p.m. and Sunday the game will be carried on TV regionally by CSS at 1 p.m.

In the total matchup history of the two programs MSU holds the record lead at 234-204-5.
