The Wilkinson County Correctional Facility and the Mississippi Department of Corrections have reported an inmate death.
Officers responded to a fight in one of the housing units. Davis was seriously wounded. Medical personnel attended to his wounds until paramedics arrived. Davis later died in the ambulance.
Deandre Davis, #L5309, died before he could be transported to a local hospital on Aug. 30.
The facility has been placed on lockdown.
