Jailed Flora Officer Could be Charged With More Child Sex Crimes

FLORA, Miss. — More charges could be filed against a Flora police officer accused of inappropriately touching children at his wife’s home day care.

James Alderman, 58, is charged with two counts of gratification of lust.  According to court documents, Alderman’s victims are a 3 and a 6 year old and the crimes took place between late 2014 and January of this year.

“We have developed information that indicates there may be other indictments that could lead to additional charges being filed against the suspect,” said MBI Director Lt. Col. Larry Waggoner.  “Anyone with information that may be helpful in this case should contact MBI at 601-987-1530.”

Alderman made his initial appearance in court Thursday, a day after his arrest.  His bond was set at $800,000.  His wife is not facing charges.
