Kasich steps down, Mississippi support for Trump grows

JACKSON, Miss. – At 4 p.m. Wednesday, Ohio Governor John Kasich announced that he was suspending his campaign for the republican presidential nomination.

At the same time Kasich was stepping down, former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott issued a statement saying that he will vote for Donald Trump as president.

“Trump just sucked all the oxygen out of 16 opponents”, said Lott.

The former senator originally supported Kasich, a former congressional college.

Lott served in the U.S. Senate from 1989 to 2007 and before that was a member of the U.S. House for 16 years.
