Keeping Your Kids Safe: Enticement Charges Get Mississippi Man 19 Years

COLUMBUS, Miss.–Trying to get underage girls to meet him for sex got Kevin Ross Smith a 19-year term in federal prison. He was sentenced Wednesday.

Smith, 31, of Lowndes County, was arrested last year by deputies after he went to a grocery store in the New Hope community to meet up with a 13-year-old girl he had met on the internet. That 13-year-old girl ended up being big men with guns and handcuffs.

Prosecutors say he had arranged other meetings. He pled guilty to three counts of enticement of a minor for sex.
