DERMA, Miss.–Raping a child under 12 is why Aaron Patane is going to prison for life. A judge in Lafayette County handed down the sentence this week. Patane pleaded guilty to one county of sexual battery. He originally had four counts against him, plus child pornography charges.
Taking the plea apparently didn’t take off too much jail time, but Patane may have had very little choice. He was arrested back on Dec. 2 at his home in Derma, in Calhoun County, and police said they had him dead to rights.
There was evidence on his cell phone and computers.
It was an interview with a victim that clued cops in to what was going on.
Patane could be spending a long time in prison. He’s 36 now.
