Keeping Your Kids Safe, Man Sentenced to Nearly 20 Years Behind Bars

OXFORD, Miss. — A man from Lowndes County is headed to prison after pleading guilty three counts of child enticement earlier this year.

Kevin Ross Smith is 30-years-old and he was arrested last year after investigators say he sent sexual messages to a teenager on social media on two different occasions.

His federal indictment says he tried to get underage girls to send him photos over the internet, and he attempted to meet other young girls for sex.

Thursday, he was sentenced to 235 months behind bars (roughly 20 years) and five years of supervised probation during a court hearing in Oxford.
