Keeping Your Kids Safe; Man Arrested on Multiple Child Sex Crimes

FLOWOOD, Miss.- Flowood police department arrest 53-year-old Kenneth Wayne Lay on an array of sex crimes against a child. Lay has been charged with exploitation of a child, child molestation, sexual battery of a minor, showing sexually oriented material to a minor and possession of child pornography.

Flowood police chief Richie McCluskey told WLBT-TV that the case was brought to them by way of the victim watching a YouTube video explaining how it was okay to tell an adult if someone touched her inappropriately.

The victim’s report led them to search Lay’s home, where they found child pornography, along with several assault rifles and hand guns.

If convicted, Lay could face up to life in prison and over one million dollars in court fees.

He waved his preliminary hearing in Rankin County Court Wednesday morning.
