Locked up for Stealing Identities and Filing False Tax Returns

JACKSON, Miss. – A woman is now behind bars for stealing people’s identifications. She used their names and social security numbers to file false tax returns with the IRS to get deposited into her and her co-conspirators bank accounts.

U.S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis told WLBT Marietta Harris of Jackson will be sentenced May 15th where she could face up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. She gave her guilty plea Wednesday at the U.S. District Court in Jackson.

Harris and her partners stole from the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Rankin County, the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and a few other locations.
