Madison Man Pleads Guilty to Killing a Man with a Machete

MADISON, Miss.- Sentenced to 40 years Monday for killing a man with a machete in August of last year. 

Eugenio Nolasco pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of second degree murder in the August 2013 death of Alphonso Rosas Tolentino.

An ongoing fight between Nolasco and Tolentino over property and a woman lead to Tolentino’s death. Nolasco said he was drunk when he attacked Tolentino at Westside Trailer Park near Canton.

The two men were neighbors and coworkers. Nolasco is from Mexico and will be deported back after serving his time.
