UPDATE: Man charged with Gulfport murder releases affidavit with new details

GULFPORT, Miss.- UPDATE: A recent affidavit was released with new details on what happened in the home of Aaron Wilson before he was found dead according to WLOX.

Aaron Wilson, 63, was found dead in his home on May 1 around 10:30 in the morning. Police arrested 19-year-old Warren Perkins for the crime after he was caught on Wilson’s security camera’s leaving the house around the time of the incident.

However, Perkins is saying that he wasn’t there to kill Wilson, he was there for paid sex. According to the affidavit released in Harrison County Perkins was contacted by Wilson on April 30th for sex.

When he arrived at the mans house Perkins says he backed out and didn’t want to do it. He claims at that time Wilson walked to the back of the house and retrieved a gun. Wilson allegedly dropped the gun, Perkins picked it up, and shot him.

Wilson was found dead  by family members.

PREVIOUS: Gulfport police have arrested and charged 19-year-old Warren Jevon Perkins with the 2nd degree murder of 63-year-old Aaron Wilson.

Wilson was found at 8000 block 34th Ave. at 10:34 a.m. by police responding to a call. He was killed by a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

Police found in their investigation that Wilson and Perkins were both inside the home at the time of the incident.

Wilson was a beloved member of the community and would often entertain his neighbors by playing jazz music in the yard.

In his last post on Facebook he said “God sent me a rainbow to let me know everything’s gonna be alright,” and then tagged a video of a rainbow.
