VICKSBURG, MISS– A man has jumped from the Halls Ferry Road overpass onto I-20 east in Vicksburg.
Vicksburg Police Chief Walter Armstrong told News Mississippi that he survived the jump, but died from the injuries at the hospital.
“He broke both of his legs,” said Armstrong. “He was not hit by any vehicle that we know of. His injuries were sustained by the jump from the bridge.”
The man was taken to Merit Health in Vicksburg, where he passed away.
Armstrong said that while there was no ID on the man, they have reason to believe he may be traveling from another area.
