Man killed in pedestrian accident in Rankin County

A pedestrian was killed in Rankin County on Castlewood’s Blvd near the intersection of Brockhurst Court around 8:30 on Tuesday night.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department received reports of a vehicle and pedestrian incident. They, along with the Reservoir Fire Department and Pafford Ambulance Service responded to the scene where a Ford Pickup appeared to have hit a man walking in hte road.

The man was unconscious and severely injured when first responders arrived. The tried to resuscitate, but were unsuccessful and he died from his injuries.

Rankin County Coroner David Ruth responded to the scene and recovered the body. Currently no charges have been filed but the accident is under investigation.
