Man Pleads Guilty to Rioting in Adams County Correctional Facility

JACKSON, Miss– Juan Geraldo Arredondo plead guilty to one count of rioting in a correctional facility on Monday. 

Arredondo, from Chihuahua, Mexico, plead guilty before the judge and faces up to 10 years in prison plus a $250,000 fine.

The riot took place in the Adams County Correctional Facility in May 2012. Several officers and guards were taken hostage, one guard was killed, and over one million dollars in damage were brought upon the jail.

Arredondo goes before the judge for sentencing August 7th.
