Manhunt Still Underway for Convicted Felon, Kidnapping Ex-Girlfriend

FORREST COUNTY, Miss.- Armed and dangerous, the manhunt is still on for Ryan Ledingham of Forrest County.

He’s white, 28-years-old, 5’6, 200 pounds, brown hair and hazel eyes. He apparently held his ex girlfriend at gunpoint and kidnapped her Thursday morning.

While he was breaking into a house, she was able to escape and call for help.

Forrest County Deputies, Lamar County Sheriff’s Department, U.S. Marshall’s Task Force, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Petal K-9 officers, and Mississippi Department of Corrections officers assisted in the overnight search for the man.

As of Friday morning, officers are concentrating on the area near Merrill Fuller Road where the suspect’s residence is located, as well as an outer perimeter around the U.S. 11 area.

Ledingham was arrested in 2008 on a residential burglary charge, and sentenced to the Mississippi Department of Corrections in 2011, where he served a little over 3 years. Ledingham was released on parole in May 2014.

The girl is safe. Police are currently looking for Ledingham. If you’ve seen him give cops a call.
