Mastermind Behind Teacher Test Taking Scheme Sentenced

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The man that helped some of your kids teachers chat on the test they had to pass to get that job is going to jail.

Clarence Mumford will serve 7 years in prison.  He was sentenced today in federal court in Memphis, where he worked for years as an educator.

The 59-year-old admitted to running a scheme for 15 years where teachers in Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas paid him to have others take the Praxis test for them.  Some paid as much as $3,000.
