MBI asks public for help identifying child’s remains

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public’s assistance with information leading to the identity of a child. 

On January 8, 2014, the remains of a young child were found in Sharkey County. The child was found on the east side of the county. The child is a male and was 5 to 7 years old at the time of death.

A National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) Forensic Artist created two images depicting what the child may have looked like in 2014. The case was initially investigated by the Sharkey County Sheriff’s Department and has now been turned over to MBI.
