Meth Found in Tennis Balls; Three Arrested

GULFPORT, Miss.- Three people have been arrested for trying to ship meth hidden in tennis balls to Jackson County.

Federal prosecutors said Marques Deanthony Payton of Fresno, California, is accused of shipping the meth to Michael Hanzik Jr. of Pascagoula. Hanzik and Scott Joseph Houska of Gautier are accused of distributing the meth.

Police found the meth hidden inside tennis balls in Hanzik’s car.

The Sun Herald reports each man has been indicted on a drug conspiracy charge. Hanzik and Houska also were indicted on a charge of possession with intent to distribute meth.

Court papers say money made from selling the drugs were wired from bank accounts in Jackson County to accounts in California.

All three are in jail with no bond.
