Earlier this week agents with the Southeast Mississippi Narcotics Task Force (SMNTF) and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN) arrested 33 year-old Joey Preston Mills of George County, for trafficking a controlled substance- methamphetamine (ICE). This arrest occurred after agents executed a search warrant at Mills’ residence located in an apartment complex at 11263 Old 63 South in Lucedale, Mississippi. Mills was transported to the George County Regional Correctional Facility pending an initial appearance in George County Justice Court. At the time of his arrest, Mills was on parole with the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) for a prior drug conviction in George County.

Sheriff Keith Havard would like to remind citizens that the SMNTF and its law enforcement partners will continue to aggressively tackle the drug problems that affect George and Greene Counties, which are not immune to the drug epidemic that America is currently facing.

These are ongoing investigations. Anyone with information concerning this or any other crime is encouraged to contact the George County Sheriff’s Office at 601.947.4811.
