Minimum Wage Raise for Jackson Employees Coming Soon

JACKSON, Miss.- Jackson city employees making $7.25 or slightly more per hour will get a pay increase soon.

A new ordinance was approved by Jackson council Tuesday to bump up the minimum wage by $1.50 and gradually increase the minimum wage to more than $10 an hour over the next two years.

Council members said the increase in pay will come into effect in October.
