Miss. Folks Missing, Police and Family Looking for Clues

ALCORN COUNTY, Miss.–The disappearances of two Mississippians have family and police confounded in two separate cases. One of those missing is a teenager.

friends and softball teammates of 17-year-old Madison Hales held a prayer vigil Monday at the home team softball field in Kossuth, where the coach and her peers prayed for her safe return. Hales went missing about 2:30 Sunday morning.

Authorities believe she may still be in the area. They are particularly looking in Alcorn, Tishamingo and Lee counties.

Hales is white, with blond hair. Her parents told police she left her house early Sunday and they did not know why. If you have any info, call the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Dept. at (662) 286-5521.

The search is also still on for 25-year-old Teresa Ewing, who went missing last week in Aberdeen. There has been an arrest, but police were not giving out much information as of Friday.

They did discuss with local media some rumors that have been floating around. One is that cadaver dogs had discovered a body in the local Odd Fellows Cemetery and that a grave would be dug up.

The police chief told WTVA that they were exploring the possibility that a body may have been buried on top of one of the graves.

The man arrested has not talked, according to police.
