JACKSON, Miss. – If you plan on taking a road trip this weekend you may be paying more than expected. The state wide average for a gallon of gas as of Friday was 3.14. Monday it was 3.07. Don Redman with AAA says prices are going up because more people are driving now that the winter storm has come to an end.
“That coincides with the fact that refineries have started to slow production,” said Redman.
He expects prices to be even higher in the spring.
