Miss. Highway Patrol Beefs Up Troopers on Roads for Memorial Day Weekend

JACKSON, Miss. — The holiday enforcement period starts for Memorial Day Weekend starts Friday at 6 p.m. and ends Monday at midnight. Not only will you see more people traveling on the road this, but you should see a lot of state troopers. What they are looking for, drunk drivers, distracted drivers, and people that are not wearing a seatbelt.

“All available manpower will be out, we are going to have increased patrols,” said Lt. Johnny Poulos with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP.)

To avoid accidents and possible deaths on the roadways the MHP is asking you to buckle up and pay attention.
