Miss. News Briefs: Your Dog’s Food May Have Been Recalled, A High Speed Chase Through Three Counties

JACKSON, Miss.–If you feed your dog dry food, you might want to check out the bag today and make sure he didn’t get some of what’s been recalled. There’s a good reason: metal in the bag. Here are some newsbriefs to make it an informed Thursday:

DOG FOOD RECALL
If you don’t want it to be over for Rover, listen up. Metal bits could be in your dog’s dog food and it’s a recall. If you bought it, you got it at Dollar General. It’s PEDIGREE Adult Complete Nutrition dry dog food. The people who make the Pedigree say there have been no dogs hurt and they think it affected only a few bags. The recall is a just in case.

THE STABBING OF JOE JONAS, ARRESTS
The stabbing of Jonas Joe on Choctaw Indian land. It happened Aug. 15 and now four arrests. Tommy Cotton, III; James Bell, Jr.; and Davian Wilson under arrest, along with a minor. And police think it could be related to a shooting in June.

OFFICERS QUIT
Two replacement police officers. That’s what the city of Columbia is looking for today after Lieutenant Richard Pack and school resource officer Jose Oatis quit yesterday. It’s an investigation and those two officers and maybe more are the targets. The MBI is involved in this one.

COSTCO HOLD UP
Costco coming to Mississippi? Not for now. The City of Jackson not rezoning land for it near Smith Wills stadium.

HIGH SPEED CHASE
Try this one on. You’re driving down the interstate and you look in the mirror and you’ve got company. And then you hit the gas. It happened to a woman Wednesday night and the chase went down I-59 from Lauderdale, through Clarke, and finally into Jasper County. WTOK reports there were even gunshots. Cops were finally waiting on ’em in Jasper County and the woman got away, but so did the people chasing her.
