Miss. News Briefs: Kidnapper Caught in Mississippi, The Danger of Homemade Explosives

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss.–If you think making your own homemade bombs is fun, just ask the guy who blew himself Monday. Here are some explosive Election Day news briefs:

BATON ROUGE KIDNAPPING ENDS IN MISSISSIPPI
Caught in Mississippi, the man Baton Rouge police say pointed a gun at his own girlfriend and her children, then left with her.. The girlfriend, Viscaacuba James, is ok. The kidnapping happened about noon Monday. About 6:15 Gulfport Police spotted the Chrysler Concord on Hay. 49. Jeremiah Rodriguez is under arrest. Cops were still figuring out when he’ll go back to Baton Rouge.

WRECK KILLS BROTHER AND SISTER
A wreck in St. Martin last night and a brother and sister are dead. Police say they were trying to cross the road in their car when another vehicle hit them.

CARJACKING ARREST
Three people shot, one dead in a carjacking and now Meridian cops think they have their man. It all went down Friday night. Monday they slapped the cuffs on Cedric Norman.
