Meanwhile, in Claiborne County, Douglas Wilson, 32, was still missing early Monday, but the circumstances were much different. Wilson, along with his cousin, Mary Jones, 16, fell into Bayou Pierre Creek, near Utica, just across the line from Hinds County.

The two fell in Saturday and crews were still searching for his body after Jones’ remains were located.

Witnesses said the two were walking along the creek band when the sand gave way under them and three people went into the creek.

Jones’ body was found Sunday and authorities were still searching for Wilson, while family and friends were still hopeful.
