FLOWOOD, Miss. — A missing woman has been found dead. Jackson and Flowood police said search crews found the body of Jessica Hewitt Wednesday afternoon along the Pearl River.
Hewitt’s body has been sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy. The cause of death is pending. She had been reported missing after she did not pick her child up from daycare Monday afternoon. Hweitt’s car was found the following day in Flowood.
A family friend had said Hewitt and her husband of two months recently separated. Bobbie Hewitt was detained and questioned by police, but released.
