Mississippi Children Found Home Alone, Mother Locked Up

JONES COUNTY, Miss. – A Jones County mother of five is facing child neglect charges after deputies said she left her children at home alone.

Jones County investigators, who went to the home after receiving calls from concerned neighbors, said they found the children – ages 10 months, 2, 3, 5 and 8 – unattended and in filthy surroundings. Deputies said the children told them that they had not eaten since the day before.  Meals were bought for them and the children were taken to the hospital for observation.  They are now in the custody of the Department of Human Services.

The mother, Jasmine Clinton, 25, was called  by deputies to come to the home; and she was arrested when she got there.
