A Mississippi man has been nominated to serve as the United States Marshal.
Recommended by Senators Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker, if confirmed Daniel R. Mckittrick would serve is the United States Marshal for the Northern District of Mississippi.
McKittrick is part of the first wave of United States Marshal nominations this year. He is joined by Norman Euell Arflack of Kentucky, Michael T. Baylous of West Virginia, David G. Jolley of Tennessee, and Jesse Seroyer, Jr. of Alabama.
U.S. Marshals are responsible for protecting the Federal Judiciary, apprehending fugitives, transporting prisoners, and protecting witnesses.
McKittrick was the Chief U.S. Probation Officer for the Northern District of Mississippi from 2007 to 2017. He joined the Probation Service in 1991 after 12 years with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He has a B.S. in Sociology with a minor in Corrections from Mississippi College.
