ORLANDO, Fla. — Mississippi ranks among the top 10 states in the U.S. for Economic Development opportunities.
Governor Phil Byrant says the state has a loyal workforce and is full of diverse and amazing entrepreneurs. “You can’t stop them,” he said during a panel discuss Thursday during the Walmart U.S. Manufacturing Summit in Orlando, Fla. “So what we do in Mississippi is something we think’s very important, get out of their way. Let them grow,” he told the crowd. “We do not over tax them, over regulate them. We get out of their way – let ‘em be entrepreneurs.”
And he says the state offers them one stop shopping, connecting them to state agencies, “angel investors” and research universities. “And have that total package to get you on your way. And then go help you find some customers.”
