Mississippi Primary Election Results Inconclusive

JACKSON, Miss.- An inconclusive night of returns in the Mississippi GOP primary, as a series of failures on the part of county election commissioners hindered results. At the last counting at 11:30 p.m. only a fraction of a point separated the two candidates, with incumbent Senator Thad Cochran trailing his challenger, State Senator Chris McDaniel.

No final conclusion in the District Four GOP Congressional primary race, though ending with incumbent Steven Palazzo leading challenger, former Democrat Gene Taylor, by a wide margin, though too close to call for a runoff. Results for both races should be available Wednesday morning with runoffs anticipated for both.
