Despite the rain, there’s plenty to do in Mississippi this weekend.

Celebrate 200 years of Mississippi at the Bicentennial Celebration North Governor’s Concert at the Gertrude C. Ford Center at Ole Miss in Oxford. Mac McAnally, Marty Stuart, Vasti Jackson and more will perform to celebrate Mississippi’s birthday.

In Jackson, it’s the Mississippi Comic Con–a two day event being held at the MS Trade Mart that will bring together a diverse list of guests, vendors, artists, and fan groups, in an affordable, family friendly environment. This year, meet Boba Fett, the original blue and black power rangers, and Barb from Stranger Things.

In Vicksburg, witness the crowning of the new Miss Mississippi. It’s the 60th year of the pageant being hosted in Vicksburg. The lady to take the crown this weekend will go on to represent the Magnolia State in the Miss America pageant.
