Mississippi Weekend: Gospel, food drive, and Mama

There’s something for everyone across the Magnolia state this weekend.

On Saturday check out Gospel Singing for a Cure in Southhaven. Gospel performers will be singing all throughout the day to raise money for the St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis. It’s a five dollar donation at the door, and all proceeds go to the hospital.

And another way to give back to Mississippi communities is through the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive with the U.S. Postal Service. It’s the 25th annual food drive, and it’s the countries largest single day drive, with more than a dozen Mississippi communities participating. All you have to do is leave a donation of nonperishable goods next to your mailbox before carriers pick up on Saturday. They’ll take your donation to the local food agency.

And Sunday is Mother’s Day so don’t forget to show her a little extra love.
