Mississippi Weekend: Pilgrimage, culture, and art

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, there’s a little something for everyone in Mississippi.

In Natchez, it is Spring Pilgrimage time yet again.  The 24 antebellum mansions of the annual Natchez Spring Pilgrimage will once again open their doors to visitors beginning March 18th. Pilgrimage time in Natchez is not only for captivating stories from the homes’ descendants and touring beautiful interiors. The city has a whole host of new events for you to enjoy with your family.

If you’re searching for something with rhythm that will get your blood pumping, DRUMLine Live! at the MSU Riley Center in Meridian is where it’s at.  The show draws from the marching band traditions of historically black colleges and universities, combining intricate choreography, supercharged brass arrangements, and, above all, showmanship.

And for something more eclectic, take a drive to Bay St. Louis for ArtsAlive. It’s an innovative art festival, where music, art, food, theatre and performance art mix for an unforgettable experience throughout Old Town.
