Mississippi Weekend: PowWow, BBQ, and festivals

If you’re looking to celebrate the heritage of Natchez, check out the 29th Annual Natchez PowWow. It’s happening all weekend, and gives you a glimpse into intertribal dancing, native american crafts, and ceremony.. it will all fill the space that was once the main ceremonial mound center of the Natchez people.

If you’re in the mood for some family fun, head to Newton for the Loose Caboose Festival. There will be food, shopping, music, a car show, a 5K, and a petting zoo.

If it’s barbecue you’re after, the 29th Annual Barbecue Under the Oaks “Grillin’ Gone Wild” will have everything you’re looking for. There’s a friendly competitive cooking throwdown made up of ribmeisters who will be trying to outdo each other on fall off the bone barbecue.. and you’ll get a taste of the product.
