A Moss Point man has pled guilty to a laundry list of charges.

On Friday, 28-year old Darius Kentrell Abston of Moss Point pled guilty to two counts of Burglary of a Dwelling, three counts of Kidnapping, and one count of Armed Robbery.

A media release stated that all charges stemmed from the same incident back in August 2017. Abston will serve a total 60 (20 per charge) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

DA Tony Lawrence hopes that the sentencing sends a message.

“People have the right to feel safe and secure in their homes.  I hope this 20-year day for day sentence will send a message that those who use guns to steal property and threaten others will be held accountable.”

Assistant District Attorney Justin Lovorn thanked the Pascagoula Police Department, who investigated this case.

“I commend the investigation by the Pascagoula Police Department as to each of these cases.  The victim is satisfied with the court’s sentence today. This defendant’s crime spree in Jackson County is over.”

Abston was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine per count.
