PASCAGOULA, Miss. — Imagine picking your daughter up from school with a swollen and bruised face. That’s how Lacy Harris picked up her five-year-old daughter Avalynn at Arlington Elementary School in Pascagoula last week.

Harris said her daughter told her that she was kicked in the face by another student. The district claims it was an accident, suggesting Avalynn fell from a slide, and no other students were involved. Harris says she wants better supervision at the schools and has gained support from over 80 thousand people on her Facebook page justice4ava.
