Mother Says Diabetic, Epileptic Child Was Hit By Bus Driver

WAYNE COUNTY, Miss.–A child may have been assaulted by a bus driver in Wayne County. A mother there is telling media that her child, who is diabetic and suffers from asthma and has seizures, was hit by bus driver Shawn McCoy, who has been charged with assault.

The 11-year-old child, who weighs 67 lbs. was struck last week, said the mother. She said a school bu8s video shows McCoy hitting the child in the chest and on the back of the head.

She also said that her attorney is working to get a copy of that tape.

McCoy was arrested this week and released on a $2,000 bond.
