The Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency is placing Christmas trees at DPS locations across the state.
“96% of the registration for organ donations come through the Department of Public Safety,” said Chuck Stinson with the Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency.
Stinson said that they will be putting up either Christmas trees or wreaths in each of the DPS’s 38 offices across the state.
Stinson added that it is important to have the conversation of becoming an organ donor with family members before making the decision.
However, Stinson said that the likelihood of being chosen as an organ donor is slim.
