Jackson, Miss– There’s plenty of fun around Mississippi this weekend.

Kick it old school and learn the history of one of Mississippi’s most famous at the Jimmie Rogers Festival in Meridian. Lucinda Williams, Blackbery Smoke, The Lone Bellow, Billy Joe Shaver and Big Sandy and his Fly Rite boys celebrate the music of Jimmie Rogers, the father of country music. Here’s the website for more information http://www.jimmierodgersmusicfestival.com/

If popping a top is more your thing, you could learn to brew your own at Big Brew Day 2016 in Jackson. This is the LD’s Beer Run celebration of National Home Brew Day. They’ll be folks there on hand to show you how to get the home brew started. For more on how to get your home brew started, check out the AHA Big Brew Day Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/198491020537263/

If you’ve got youngsters with a passion for animals take ’em to Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild Live in Biloxi. Hanna is a wildlife veteran and he’ll have all the critters on hand that the kids would love.
