Murder-Suicide in Columbia: Woman Was Last Heard From Friday

COLUMBIA, Miss.–An apparent murder suicide was discovered in Columbia Sunday morning about 11. The woman had not been heard from since Friday and police found the bodies when they were called to the house to check on the woman.

Police did not release the names of the people involved, but said the family called them to check in the apartment where her boyfriend lived after they saw her car parked outside, reported WDAM.

Chief Mike Cooper said police saw the bodies when they looked in a window.

The two people were dating, but police did not go into much more detail about the nature of the incident.

Both people were shot and officers found a gun in the apartment.

The chief told the TV station that they are not looking for anyone else in the shooting.
