UPDATE: NASCAR Hall-of-Fame driver to appear at Brandon business postponed

BRANDON- Gray-Daniels Ford in Brandon, Mississippi, has announced that Richard Petty’s visit will be postponed due to severe weather in the state. He was originally scheduled to make an appearance at the dealership on Tuesday, February 7th from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Petty, also known as “The King,”  is a NASCAR Hall of Fame driver and owner and will be unveiling #7 of 43 80th Tribute Edition 2017 Ford Mustangs. Petty’s Garage, which is located in Level Cross, North Carolina, has teamed up with Ford Motor Company to make these limited-edition Ford Mustangs.

Each 80th Tribute Edition carries a special color scheme that honors Mr. Petty’s 80th birthday which rolls around on July 2nd, 2017.

The #7 is significant because that’s the number of record 7 NASCAR Championships and 7 Daytona 500’s that Mr. Petty won during his career.

“It’s an honor to have ‘The King’ come to Gray-Daniels Ford. We know these exclusive Mustangs will be in high-demand, and we are thrilled to have the privilege to sell #7 to one lucky customer,” General Manager Derek Johnson of Gray-Daniels Ford said.

Petty is a second-generation driver who earned a record 200 wins during his career and was inducted into the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010.

Gray-Daniels Ford is located on 201 Octavia Drive in Brandon, Mississippi.
