President Donald J. Trump has declared Wednesday, December 5th to be a national day of mourning to honor 41st President of the United States George H.W. Bush. As a result, a number of services are affected including the closure of the federal government and financial markets.

- All federal offices will be closed and most federal workers will be excused from work.
- The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will be closed as well.
- The Supreme Court will delay arguments by a day.
- The House of Representatives has canceled all scheduled votes for the week.
- The U.S. Senate will not have any votes until after the funeral.
- The U.S. Postal Service will close all post offices across the country and suspend their regular mail delivery, however, some package delivery will continue.
In Mississippi, Governor Phil Bryant has ordered all state and U.S. flags be flown at half-staff for the 30 days following the death of President George H.W. Bush.
