National Go Barefoot day

JACKSON, Miss.- There are very few things that feel better than taking off your shoes after a long day and feeling soft carpet under your feet. Today is National Go Barefoot day, and one non-profit is asking you to do just that.

In 2008, Soles4Souls launched National Go Barefoot day with the hope to raise awareness of the millions of children who don’t have adequate shoes. The organizations took it upon themselves to make sure that problem was eliminated.

Running completely off of donations, Soles4Souls has given out 26 million pairs of good shoes in 127 countries and every state in the U.S.
The group says over 400 million kids go without proper footware everyday which can limit what they can do and cause them to contract diseases.

If you have a pair of shoes you would like to donate, they’ll be happy to take them, just visit their website here.
