New public safety appointments

There are some new public appointments in Mississippi.

Major Randy Ginn is the new chief of the Uniform division of the Mississippi Highway Patrol and lt. Colonel Kevin Myers has been appointed as Director of the Department of Public Safety’s Administrative Operations.

Ginn has held several positions in his tenure with the state, including trooper, troop commander and MBI special agent. Ginn is also a graduate of the famed FBI National Academy.

Lt. Colonel Myers has served as Legislative Liaison for the Department of Public Safety (DPS). Governor Bryant then tapped Myers as director of the Lt. Governor’s Security and then transitioned him to director of Governor’s security. Myers’ father and uncle are both retired troopers.
