Nine charged in gang-related Hattiesburg shooting

An investigation into a Monday shooting in Hattiesburg has brought charges against nine people with more possibly coming.

The shooting occurred on Monday at an apartment complex on Country Club Road. As the charges indicate, it appears that the shooting is the result of gang related activity. The list of names and charges can be viewed below.

  • Deidre Burns, 26, was charged with Accessory Before the Fact of Aggravated Assault.
  • Willie Wilson, 41, and Daija Tate, 21, were both charged with Criminal Street Gang Activity and Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault.
  • Rashad Marshall, 22, and Meredith Austin, 22, were both charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, Criminal Street Gang Activity, and Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault.
  • D’Andre Humbles, 18, D’Vonte Humbles, 18,  Phillip Little, 18, and Armonte Canamore, 16, were all charged with Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault, Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling, Aggravated Assault and Criminal Street Gang Activity. They are all being held at the Forrest County Regional Jail.

The HPD says that the investigation is ongoing and that it could lead to more charges and arrests.

Three injuries were reported from the shooting, but no fatalities.
