School officials are investigating a report of a noose seen at Mendenhall Jr. High School.

Simpson County Superintendent Greg Paes said the rope, that resembled a noose, was seen by students and members of the staff in the cafeteria, and they are expecting to identify the person responsible for this incident.

If anyone has information regarding this incident, he asks that you notify the principal at the school, Mrs. Sydney Magee, or contact the district office.

He added that this type of incident is not tolerated in any of the Simpson County schools, and once the person responsible for doing this is identified, they will be handled according to their policies and procedures.
