Officer Who Claims Jackson Carjacking is in More Trouble

JACKSON, Miss. – A Brookhaven police officer, accused of setting his own car on fire, has also been charged with filing a false police report.

Jairus Davis, 28, was arrested last week by Jackson Fire Department arson investigators.  His car had been found on fire last month on the side of a Jackson road.  Davis’ first version of his story said a man with a gun approached him as he was changing a flat tire, forced him to lie on the ground and took the car.  Davis said he shot at the carjacker, but missed.
