Ole Miss Hoops gets frontcourt boost with Khadim Sy commitment

Daytona State College  forward Khadim Sy announced his commitment to Ole Miss on Monday evening, choosing the Rebels over Pittsburgh and East Carolina.

The former Virginia Tech Hokie averaged 16.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game last season at Dayton State en route to earning All-American honors.

This is a significant commitment for Kermit Davis and the Rebels as Sy provides the length and athleticism the Rebels sorely lacked on the floor at times during the 2018 season.  As Kermit Davis continues to try to morph the roster towards his style of basketball, Sy is an ideal fit in the front court. At 6-foot-10, 240 pounds, Sy gives the Rebels a physical presence inside and can stretch the floor enough to create space. Sy hit 32-of-100 three point attempts last season.  He played in 32 games at Virginia Tech his freshman year, averaging 4 points per game and 2.7 rebounds.

Sy is likely the last member of the 2019 signing class, one that includes Antavion Collum, Austin Crowley, Sammy Hunter, Rodney Howard and Daytona State teammate Bryce Williams.
