Ole Miss Student in Critical Condition after Football Weekend Altercation

AUSTIN, TEXAS–An Ole Miss student is in critical condition after a weekend altercation in Austin, Texas.

The Austin Police Department is still investigating the actions that lead to junior Carson Otter being punched early Saturday morning downtown.

“The male got into a verbal disturbance with some other males that were driving by in a vehicle,” said Austin PD spokeswoman Vanessa Brimner.

One of the men jumped out of the four-door car and ran up to Otter and knocked him out onto the sidewalk according to the police.

“It caused him to hit his head,” she said.

By the time police made it to the scene the men had sped off and Otter was already at a local hospital.

No arrests have been made and the police aren’t releasing any other information except that they’re still looking for multiple suspects.

Ole Miss played the University of Texas in football over the weekend in Austin and that’s why Otter was in town.
